My entire garage is covered in Gladiator slat wall. It has been a solid investment for me since I have rearranged the garage organization several times and the modularity of the slat wall makes it simple. These shelves are heavy duty and are perfect for holding large, heavy storage boxes. There’s no flex from the weight which gives me a lot of confidence in their durability and hold. Also, you can place the brackets above or below the shelf which is great. That feature alone has helped me place the shelves in places where they otherwise wouldn’t fit.I love the whole Gladiator line and these shelves are no exception.Get the stuff off your garage floor!I have a few of these and they were hard to find locally. Sturdy and look great in the Gladiator system. This one was bent in the box but I was able to bend it back. Not worth returning. 5 star shelf, one star off for bent in shipping.I bought this shelf to span between the tops of two wall mounted Gear Boxes. Mine is mounted to a straight concrete block wall, so I did not have to muscle anything into position. The unit comes in five pieces, the shelf, two support brackets and two clips along with the needed hardware to put it all together. The clips are similar to the ones that are on the GAWUXXSHRH S Hook. The clips have two threaded studs that fit through slots in the support bracket. Bolt the brackets to the shelf and you are ready to install. My installation has the brackets below the shelf. If you don't have the Gear Wall panels, you will need to have two sections of Gear Track, separated by six inches. Install the clips first and then the shelf. With everything aligned, use the included wing nuts to attach the brackets to the clips. I was a bit disappointed that the shelf did not line up with the tops of my Gear Boxes; the shelf sits a little less than inch higher. Since I bought the shelf to store stuff that won't be used that often, it's not a big deal. Putting the wing nut on the lower stud can be a difficult unless you have nimble fingers. It was a little tight for me to get my fingers in there but fortunately my wife did not have a problem. The shelf looks good and is solid. If I was using the shelf by itself, this rating would be five stars. But having that height difference between the shelf and the Gear Boxes pushed the rating down to four stars.Once I unboxed the 45" Gladiator shelf, I understood the premium price! It is really well-made and substantial, including the brackets and the way they capture the shelf edge. Super easy to put together, and complements the rest of the Gladiator GarageWorks family of cabinets. The reason I give it 4 out of 5 is because the design of the shelve requires your GearWall or GearTrack installation to be PERFECTLY flat. Well, in the real world, wall studs have some variation, and the section of my GearWall where I wanted to hang the shelf had variation in the studs causing a 5/32-inch out-of-plane in my GearWall panel. The shelf has a welded lip on it to lock onto the GearWall slats, and it's so closely sized to the thickness of the slat edge that it cannot tolerate any variation! Fortunately for me, I was hanging the shelf from the upper-most section of my GearWall so I was able to remove the panel and put some shims behind it to make it perfectly flat when reinstalled, which let me get the shelf hung and finish my organizing project. Whirlpool Corp., if you are reading, reach out to this old, grey-haired engineer, and I can help you design a simple change where customers would never perceive the issue in the first place.A heavy shelf but I managed to put six of them up on my own without assistance even though they are somewhat heavy and awkward. These are not some flimsy wire shelf that bends and twists at the sight of a large heavy storage box. I think the person who complained about the weight is missing the point, The shelves are long at 48 " and deep so by necessity they have to be heavy especially with their load rating. Two mounting options help give you a choice depending on you storage requirements, And they do make a reasonable work shelf too, These have no equal in the Gladiator range. As for installation they are not that difficult to install if your walls are flat as the shelf has a flange that runs the width of the shelf at the back that fits on the ridge of the panel. So your GearTrack or GearWall has to be straight or the shelf will be a pig to fit. I only have one spot that was not perfectly level so I had to shim part of the Gearwall to make it perfectly straight. I used GearWall rather than Gear Track to give a little more flexibility over positioning above my cabinets but I believe the Gear Track is a stronger option.I really like these shelves. Last but not least I think they look good against the cabinets in a man-cave sort of way.I have the Gladiator system, and these shelves are work well for this system. The Gladiator PANELS are a bit on the expensive side, but the quality is in the product. The Gladiator shelves hold up to 50 pounds. It takes about 10 minutes to put them together, and this is extremely easy. You have to make sure the PANELS are correctly spaced on your wall or the shelves will not fit. The Shelves do have a bit of play, but make sure to install the PANELS with the right spacing if you want to order the Gladiator shelves.I use my shelves for lighter items primarily, but I do have tools on a bottom Gladiator shelve. I will eventually move the tools to a more secure tool box setup, but I am sure I will find items for the shelves. The Gladiator shelves work great for bulky light items, like thermal coolers etc. I have five of these Gladiator Shelves and they are very useful.I love my Gladiator storage system that is very sturdy and easy to install. Best of all, it allows storage of my tools and supplies off the floor, and this shelf is an important part of that system. I have bought two of the shelves for a storage area in my basement, and I have three in my garage. I may add more at some point.Il étais endommagé !!!
