While not originally designed for it, this glass works fabulously with the BoXZY 3D printer as a glass bed for printing. It's very flat and once leveled produces some of the most amazing first-layers I've seen (certainly better than printing to kapton covered aluminum). Printing a 0.1mm first layer can be "the norm" rather than "the exception".The 8"x8" size is perfect for the BoXZY and allows full use of all three axis with no limiting of the print area. I do recommend putting an 8"x8" sheet of kapton tape between the aluminum bed of the BoXZY and this glass to distribute the heat at that junction point, but it's a perfect fit and clips nicely to the existing aluminum bed with large ACCO Binder Clips, allowing for easy attachment of a silicone bed heater to the back of the original aluminum bed, which works well to heat the glass. Though having this glass attached will increase the time required to heat the bed quite a bit. This glass is thicker than the glass beds used on many 3D printers and therefore shouldn't have any of the warping issues often reported on those thinner glasses. Adding the thickness of the glass does require setting the extruder attachment up higher, but it's not too high to reduce print height. The attached picture shows the glass in use on the BoXZY printer with a print that had just finished and was in the process of cooling. When cool, the print will literally pop right off the glass, but sticks nicely to the glass when using PVA (aka glue stick) or ABS juice (depending on the material you are printing).I don't know how well this glass works as a shelf, but it's fantastic as a 3D Printer Bed!
